General objective of the Master's in Public Management is to train agents of change with a proactive vision who practice professionally, under a framework of legality, transparency, social responsibility, respect, protection of human rights, equity and justice in public administration.

Specific objectives

• To contribute to the professionalization of specialist individuals who can be integrated and/or advise in government agencies and bodies, as well as in non-governmental organizations, through the acquisition of tools for solving problems in public administration.
• Develop knowledge of management theories and policies for efficient decision making.
• Design and implement public policies and programs to promote adequate attention to public problems.
• Plan and implement information systems for public administration.

Admission profile

• To be a professional with a bachelor's degree.
• Have verifiable work experience in public administration.
• Have an interest in getting involved in public administration projects, programs and/or policies, preferably related to your professional practice.
• Possess the ability to make decisions in the public sphere and to express oneself argumentatively.
• Possess analytical and synthesis skills, logical reasoning and mental abstraction, regarding public problems and management in any of their areas of competence.
• Having the ability to analyze public problems.
• Proficiency in using Microsoft Office and Information and Communication Technologies (ICT), as well as in searching for academic information on the web.
• Be willing to work in interdisciplinary and transdisciplinary teams.
• To aspire to be a professional who adds value to society.
• Being committed to global quality, values, and excellence.

Graduate profile. The graduate will possess the following knowledge, skills, attitudes, and values:

• Its scope of action will be broad and will include government agencies and bodies, as well as non-governmental organizations.
• It will analyze, propose and implement scientific and technological solutions to public management situations, at its different levels of competence, that require professional intervention.
• You will have a broad and deep understanding of management theories and policies to make efficient decisions in the various problematic fields of public administration in Mexico, based on the acquisition of managerial skills in the public service. 
• It will design and implement public policies and programs to promote adequate attention to public problems based on the implementation of appropriate feasibility analysis methods.
• He will negotiate effectively using assertive communication and motivation to achieve goals.
• He will plan and implement information systems for public administration.
• From a proactive perspective, it will operate with ethics, legality, quality, transparency, accountability, commitment to social issues, and respect for and protection of human rights.
• As an agent of change, he/she will conduct himself/herself with honesty in public service, awareness and social responsibility, respect, inclusion, equity and justice.

Admission requirements. These are those established in the current university regulations applicable to postgraduate studies, as well as the following:

• Simple copy of the degree certificate or graduation certificate and proof of completion of social service for Bachelor's degree.
• Have a minimum average of 80 in undergraduate studies supported by the original certificate or document that is comparable to the previous studies, as the case may be.
• Have a Unique Population Registry Code (CURP). In the case of foreigners, it must be valid.
• Curriculum vitae, including, where applicable, areas of performance in public administration.
• Letter of intent explaining the reasons for taking the program.
• Submit two letters of academic and/or professional recommendation.
• Demonstrate a minimum level A2 according to the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages ​​(CEFR) or its equivalent in TOEFL.
• Research proposal.
• Preparatory course, subject to consideration by the Academic Board.
• Interview.
• Admission exam; to assess the aptitude of applicants, evaluations such as GRE, GMAT and EXANI III will be taken in equivalence, and the Academic Board will decide the proportion of this evaluation in the admission to the academic program.
• Approve the other requirements published in the respective call for applications.

To applicants, graduates and/or degree holders of la Universidad de GuadalajaraThey are exempt from complying with the delivery of a simple copy or original of the requirements established in sections a) and b) of this resolution, since the school archive already has the electronic information of the same.

For students with previous studies completed abroad, in addition to the above, the following is required:

The degree, certificates and birth certificate must be apostilled or the applicable procedure for countries not members of the Hague Convention and if they are in a language other than Spanish, accompany a translation by an accredited expert.

Requirements for obtaining the degree, in addition to those stipulated in university regulations, are the following:

• Having completed the corresponding Master's program.
• Having fulfilled the requirements indicated in the respective study plan. 
• Present, defend and approve the thesis.
• Present proof of no outstanding debt issued by the School Control Coordination of the University Center.
• Cover the corresponding fees.
